Midthunder is a member of Fort Peck's Assiniboine as well as the Sioux Tribe. Her family is from the Navajo Nation of Shiprock in New Mexico. After spending much of her life living in Santa Fe (where she went to the Academy for Technology and the Classics and her mother worked at a casting company) after which she came home. Amber is Native American on her father's family, and they are both registered members of the Fort Peck Sioux Tribe. Amber is of mixed ancestry because her mother was adopted. Prey features a largely Native American cast including an incredible first-timer Dakota Beavers, as Naru's brother and producer Jhane Myers. He is Comanche and Blackfeet and advised the production extensively Due to the era that the film was set in, the actors couldn't cast just any animal. Coco, who is the animal actor that portrays Sarii in the film was chosen for her unique breed of dog: the American Dingo. Carolina Dogs are among the oldest breeds.
There is another message in all this; throughout the film, TJ recounts how much he loves Amanda and how she is everything to him (although some of the narration could be actually about Amanda's daughter if we examine it more). TJ told Amanda about his feelings towards her but she resisted him since she was with Daniel. Jack later got married to Amanda. Emily, however was open about her feelings after Amanda was killed. Since then, the two are best of friends. In the final episode they get married. Amanda is the only one to kiss Wilf at midnight. One winner wins the entire prize pot
